History
Following the success of the first series and the development of a television show, Scout commissioned a sequel series. Southard chose to make a prequel instead telling the whole origin story of the main character Ortensia Thomas in a coming of age adventure.
This was the final Midnight Western Theatre series after a series of controversies forced Scout out of business. In the end, Southard managed to regain its publishing rights. A third installment was planned but never made.
